On Wednesdays, our room is transformed, with breakfast tables replaced by play mats and educational games. Fruit purees and low-sugar cakes are added to our menu. The crockery is now unbreakable.
Welcome to the pushchair café on Wednesday afternoons from 2 to 6 p.m.. This is where parents and children meet to rest, recharge their batteries or just have a coffee between appointments. They can exchange tips and tricks, and listen to each other - in short, it's the kind of meeting place we love.
On Sundays, it's a different atmosphere - the tables are covered with exercise books and sheets of draft paper. It's the café devoir, that special time when young people from the neighbourhood and other parts of the city get together. To finish an exercise, learn a lesson, prepare for an oral or just print out some documents for their presentation. It's free, with free access between 2pm and 4pm.
What could be better than a good pancake after all that exercise? After the effort the comfort. Then there are those who decide to do it all at the same time, eating a crêpe while solving an equation.
During this time, each of us is invited to express ourselves in English! So yes, sometimes you can't find the words, but just like in a real-life situation, you have to find another way, and that's how you learn. Of course, resources are made available to participants, but above all it's a time for fun and sharing.
The idea here is to make our language skills available, as the entire hotel team is multilingual.
